Versatile brush, or tawashi, made in Japan by Takada from the fibres of the windmill palm. The natural fibres of the palm are exceptionally durable, and are pliant yet firm for many uses, including dish washing, removing grease and food without being abrasive. Ideal for cleaning fruit and vegetables, gently lifting away dirt without damaging the skin. Despite appearances, the brushes are in fact astonishingly soft, making them as suitable for bathing as they are for household use, imparting a gentle, pleasing and invigorating sensation to the skin.
Takada’s artisans have been handcrafting tawashi by hand for over seventy years, using only the finest, carefully-selected materials harvested from trees cultivated in Wakayama Prefecture, in southwestern Japan.
