Geometric Madder Throw

This throw is designed by Louisa Loakes, printed with a natural dye from the root of the Madder plant (Aal); a traditional colour used in Indian block printing.

The throw is printed by third generation master block printers in a small town near Jaipur. Block printing is a skilled craft which involves using a wooden block to transfer a natural dye onto fabric; which one block at a time is repeated to make a pattern over the fabric.

The fabric is an organic soft linen/cotton mix, and is fully lined. For cleaning, a gentle cold handwash is recommended.

The method of block printing by hand will mean that each throw is unique.
