Oat Butter Dish

Hand-thrown stoneware butter dish, dolomite glazed in an electric kiln. Diameter approximately 130mm, height 85cm. Made in Kent.

This beautiful matte oat coloured glaze used by Gillian for this collection of tableware has a distinctive crazed effect, which is more visible when the piece is heated or washed with very hot water.  Please note that the clay is completely impervious and fired to 1265°C.  This is just a decorative effect.
