Rachael House

Rachael House is a multi-media fine artist who makes participatory events, objects, performance, drawings, and zines. Concerns in her work include claiming public space, collective joy, ageing, mental health, queer family, feminism, and gender.

She strives to create a practice that thinks about representing intersections between feminism and trans-rights, and a political system that seeks to deny those voices. She often uses humour to highlight inequalities and injustices, but also celebrates and champions the openness and inclusivity of queer communities.

Recent exhibitions include- Come as You Are, Aspex Portsmouth, 2025; group show, Out From The Centre, Mimosa House, London 2025; A Real Woman, nationwide billboard project Artichoke Trust/The Gallery, 2024; You Are Safe Here, Margate Pride Art Trail; Batcave, The Parlour Gallery, Deptford 2024; Hudson Valley Kitchen Spring/Break, New York 2023; There Has To Be Somewhere, Grand Union, Birmingham 2023; Be More Bonobo, The Feminist Library, Peckham 2023; We Get To Choose Our Families, Whitechapel, London 2022; We are Queer Britain, Queer Britain, 2022-26, group show; Still I Rise: Gender Feminisms Resistance ACT2 at De La Warr, and ACT3 at Arnolfini Bristol; Focus on Feminism and Gender, New Hall Art Collection, Cambridge.
