George Foster grew up in a household where a ceramic studio practice was already well established by his mother Carol Foster, who was keen to pass on her skills to a member of the family. He returned to ceramics after a career in hospitality, producing wares that balance a fitness for purpose while being a pleasure to use.

George has developed his own practice over the past 14 years, now teaching alongside Carol. He appreciates the social interactions that teaching brings; valuing the people you get to know and the moments shared.

He has produced tableware for local restaurants and cafes, and has recently fulfilled a bespoke commission for BBC 2’s Great British Menu programme.
