Clare Halifax

Clare graduated from the University of Loughborough in 2000 with a BA Hons in Printed Textile design and went on to sell her work internationally to the fashion and interior markets.
In 2009 Clare completed an MA in Multi-disciplinary printmaking at the University of the West of England, which saw her work develop into the production of limited edition prints and ceramic pieces.
Having grown up in the South West of England, the inspiration for Clare’s work comes from scenes of nature and wildlife. Pattern and colour play an important role in giving Clare’s work a decorative and detailed appearance. Clare’s eye for aesthetic harmony instills balance and beauty in her art. Within each image, design, pattern and colour play an important part, adding depth and decoration to build an aesthetically pleasing overall effect.
Clare currently resides in London where she continues to be influenced by nature in her everyday environment. She has recently completed commissions for two large scale public art projects, one at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation in their outdoor staff area, featuring the flora and fauna of Regents Park, and the second at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for the new Adult Therapy Department, featuring the sights and settings of Chelsea Physic Garden, Battersea Park and the Kyoto Garden in Holland Park. Both works bring the lush and varied parklands indoors to create environments that calm and soothe their audience.
Her work was chosen for the Royal Academy Summer Show in 2024.
