Wrapped Painting 7

Warp thread, acrylic ink and plywood, measures 160mm x 200mm.

Artist’s statement
This painting was made by wrapping weaving warp thread around a wooden pole with a square cross section and painting a stipe evenly down one edge. The painted thread was then wrapped around a picture shaped piece of plywood. I was fascinated by the pattern created by the wrapping and stretching of what was originally a regular pattern.
