Rachael House is part of a transtemporal, feminist family of artists and makers whose work is a form of resistance. She revels in the space between ‘high’ and ‘low’ culture, making use of performance, comic strips and ceramics to address themes such as queerness, ageing, mental health and gender-based discrimination. Presented in galleries and museums, House’s art can also be found in places where it can get things done: in parks, nightclubs and in the streets.

We are very pleased to present our new exhibition, Let the Hope In by Rachael House featuring ceramics, risographs and zines.
Rachael House makes work to buoy us up in difficult times.
Her riso prints proclaim that queer joy is a space of resistance and emphasise that ‘rest’ is a vital component to our continued resistance, as a small genderqueer risograph moon looks over the necklace adorned bat (Leather Flapper) protectively.
The ceramic works blend intricate patterns, humour, and serious messages, rendering them both decorative and accessible, inviting viewers to find personal meaning and connection.
The platters and plates on display boldly re-imagine feminist and LGBTQIA+ potential.
This exhibition may bring some calm and respite from an increasingly hostile world. It is a reminder of possibilities, and that real change is possible.
It is a space of hope.

Rachael House is a multidisciplinary artist who makes participatory events, objects, performance, drawings and zines.
