Sabo is a Japanese tea label offering high quality, non or very low caffeine organic teas, selected by Makio McDonald. Four varieties available:
Hojicha from Miyazaki, Japan (50g)
Naturally grown with no fertiliser made by slow roasting Kukicha (leaves and stems of the first and second harvest) at a very high temperature. It has a beautiful aroma, a sweet toasted flavour and is very low in caffeine.
Mugi Cha from Yamagata, Japan (100g)
Organic barley tea gently roasted at a low temperature to enhance its mild flavour and aroma, resulting in a tea with a pale colour. Naturally no caffeine.
Sannen Bancha from Nara, Japan (50g)
Organic Sannen Bancha is mainly the stem (70%) and the leaves (30%) of the tea plant picked only after three years. Slowly roasted over a wood burning fire, after which it is rested for over 6 months, giving it a deep, smoky flavour, and is very low in caffeine.
Soba Cha from Nagano, Japan (100g)
Roasted buckwheat tea. It has a mild toasted flavour with nutty aroma. It contains a large amount of the antioxidant lutin. It can be used to sprinkle on salads straight from the package or, once brewed can be cooked with rice. Naturally no caffeine.
