A Shetland Notebook

A Shetland Notebook contains 39 watercolours selected from journeys to the edges of the Shetland Islands in the spring and summer of 2012. Norman Ackroyd RA has spent more than half a century recording the coastal landscapes of the British Isles. With the assistance of local boatmen, he voyages to the remotest corners of Britain, often working from the deck of a small vessel, armed with nothing more than paper, paints, coffee and a mackerel sandwich or two. In his Bermondsey studio, Ackroyd uses his plein air studies as the basis for beautiful monochrome prints etched on copper. Hardback.
