This month’s featured maker is Daniela Rubino. She utilises bold, geometric designs in these innovative concrete planters. Her use of concrete is highly characteristic of her work and she has been drawn to its use since her time as a sculpture student at Central Saint Martin’s when she discovered a material that has high compressive strength, but which nevertheless can be manipulated into endless shapes and sizes. As well as concrete, Daniela uses metal to create sculptural pieces and is particularly attracted to the industrial aesthetic of these materials.
We are stocking a range of these planters with different varieties of succulents and air plants and we have been working with Daniela to produce a range of colourways unique to FRANK that work both as stand-alone pieces and as a cohesive group.
