Winter 2022

December 2022

It seems strange to be thinking about winter when the weather here in the south east of the country has been so mild and damp. I find myself looking longingly at my unused winter coat as, yet, again, I shake off my waterproofs. But crisp winter or not, the year marches inexorably towards its conclusion and that, of course, means the season of gifting is once more at our door.
With present-giving in mind, we thought we’d introduce you to some new arrivals in Frank: a maker, a designer, and an eco brand.

First up is Will Papworth, whose sculptural ceramics play with form without neglecting function. The pieces we have chosen are elegant, playful vessels that echo and resonate with one another and look right at home as a group. See his work online and read more about Will’s work and ethos here.

Turner & Harper, founded in 2011 by Tom Harper, work closely with some of the last remaining brush makers in the UK to produce items which are both useful, beautiful and elegant—designed to last a lifetime. Our collection, shown here, has been made with beech handles and plant-based bristles. The nail brush, clothes brush and bannister brush are available online and in store.

We’ve recently become stockists for Klippan, founded in Sweden in 1879. Today, the fourth and fifth generations are working side-by-side, developing the company. They combine Swedish design with their long tradition of textile knowledge.

All blankets and throws are spun, woven and dyed in their own oeko-tex® certified factory. What has always been central to their ethos is to offer beautiful natural textiles of high quality, produced with great care for the environment.

The collection of throws and baby blankets we’ve chosen for Frank are made from recycled wool and cotton, and available in store.

We’re open every day through to Christmas Eve. Come along and see our ‘Forests for the Future’ window display.

Thanks to Andrew Hayes-Watkins for the photographs.
